How It Works

Frequently Asked Questions...

Do I need building consent to have a Good Wood Shed?

In New Zealand, whether or not you need building consent to build a small outbuilding under 30 square meters can depend on the local council's rules and the purpose of the building.

According to the Building Act 2004, building consent is not required for some minor building work that is considered low-risk. This can include certain types of outbuildings, such as a garden shed or a small workshop, providing that the building is not intended for human habitation, and meets specific criteria such as height, distance from boundaries, and fire safety. However, it's always important to check with the local council before starting any construction, as rules and exemptions may vary depending on the location and purpose of the building.

It's always best to check with the local authorities or a professional to ensure you comply with the current rules and guidelines, including any zoning, or resource and building consents, and to ensure that the building is safe and up to the Building Code standards.

What's the delivery lead-time?

Lead times may vary, it's best to ask us for an estimate!

However, we aim to to have your shed delivered in under 1 month.

What are my delivery options if I live in Hawke's Bay?

Option 1)

Order at the kitset price and collect from our workshop between Hastings & Havelock North (no delivery charge)

Option 2)

Order an assembled shed and get a Hiab delivery directly to your property.

NB: This is on a case by case basis as not all properties have hiab access.

Can I have the door on a different end of the shed to what's pictured?

In most cases yes, please get in touch.

Can you send my shed directly to my property instead of a Mainfreight Depot?

Unfortunately the kitset sheds are too large to be delivered by freight companies to your property unless you have a forklift on site.

It's up to you to arrange collection of the kitset shed from your local Mainfreight depot.

If you're wanting a door to door service, we'd recommend booking a local hiab to collect from the depot and deliver, but this is an additional cost.
