The Journey of Goodwood: From Humble Beginnings to Today
I recently had the pleasure of sharing the story of Goodwood on The Breeze Radio. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our journey and the milestones we’ve achieved along the way. Listen to the full interview below.
The Early Days
Goodwood started as a small idea with a big dream. In the beginning, it was just me in the back of a shed, cutting up traps and building ten at a time. It was a simpler time, but it laid the foundation for what Goodwood could become.
Building the Team
As the business grew, so did the team. Dan Fern, one of my best mates from Taradale High School, was my first employee. Together, we produced desks during the COVID lockdown. When Dan moved to Australia, Liam Raphael stepped in, and we worked tirelessly to meet the growing demand from Mitre10s, Dulux, and other large companies.
Expanding Our Offerings
With the addition of more team members like Marco, Odey, and Charlie, we expanded our product range. From pest traps to cornholes, desks, beds, and eventually garden sheds!
We diversified to meet the needs of our customers. Our garden sheds, built with top-quality materials like H3.2 tanalised timber and stainless steel fixings, became a hit, especially for those living by the beach.
Milestones and Achievements
One of our proudest moments was when we started building cabins. Builder Dave Jarvis joined us, and we began constructing small cabins, which quickly gained popularity. These cabins, combined with the garden sheds was a turning point for us, proving that our hard work was paying off and that we were on the right track.
Looking Ahead
As we look to the future, we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. We remain committed to our core values and to delivering the best for our customers. The journey of Goodwood is far from over, and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.
Thank you to The Breeze Radio for giving us the platform to share our story. And thank you to all our supporters who have been with us every step of the way.
